How much can I save using luggage courier compared to airline excess baggage fees at Birsa Munda Airport?

Airlines operating out of Ranchi Birsa Munda Airport typically charge between ₹500 and ₹700 per extra kilogram for luggage exceeding the standard 15 kg check-in allowance. For an extra 30 kg, an airline can charge ₹15,000 to ₹21,000. Shree Ashirwad's surface cargo luggage courier delivers that same 30 kg consignment door-to-door for approximately ₹1,500 to ₹2,500, saving you over 80%.

Do you provide doorstep pickup for luggage parcels anywhere in Ranchi?

Yes, we provide same-day or scheduled doorstep pickup across all areas of Ranchi including Harmu, Morabadi, Kanke Road, Lalpur, Doranda, Ashok Nagar, Ratu Road, Bariatu, Dhurwa, Hinoo, BIT Mesra campus, and Namkum.

How do you protect trolley bags and suitcases during transit?

We encase suitcases and trolley bags in heavy-duty 23-micron waterproof stretch film, reinforce zip closures with tamper-evident security pull-ties, fit protective corner cardboards, and apply heavy polypropylene strapping bands to prevent bursting or handling scuffs.

What is the delivery transit time from Ranchi to metro cities like Delhi, Bangalore, or Mumbai?

For standard express surface cargo, transit times are 2 to 4 business days to Delhi NCR, Kolkata, and Patna; and 4 to 6 business days to Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, and Chennai. We also offer 24 to 48 hour priority air cargo courier for urgent shipments.

Can students send academic books, clothes, and bedding using this service?

Yes! Our student luggage courier package is specifically designed for college scholars moving between hostels and home. We supply sturdy 7-ply corrugated carton boxes designed to carry dense loads of textbooks, study materials, wardrobe garments, and winter bedding.

Do you provide live tracking for luggage parcels?

Heavy-duty packaged cartons and reinforced luggage ready for courier dispatch in Ranchi.

Smart Excess Baggage Logistics: The Affordable Alternative to Airline Fees

Traveling by air through Ranchi’s Birsa Munda Airport (IXR) offers tremendous speed, but commercial airlines impose punitive penalties the moment your luggage exceeds the standard 15 kg check-in allowance. Domestic carriers routinely charge between ₹500 and ₹700 for every additional kilogram at airport check-in counters. A passenger carrying an extra 35 kilograms of clothes, books, and winter wear can easily face an unexpected airport bill of ₹17,500 to ₹24,500—often costing more than the flight ticket itself! Similarly, students graduating from premier educational campuses like BIT Mesra, IIM Ranchi, NUSRL, and Central University of Jharkhand frequently find themselves stuck with 4 to 8 heavy cartons of study materials, reference texts, and personal belongings that are too heavy for passenger trains and too small to book an entire dedicated moving truck.

At Shree Ashirwad Packers and Movers, operating from our central company headquarters at Anandpuri Chowk, Vidyanagar Road, Harmu, Ranchi, our Luggage Courier & Excess Baggage Division provides the ultimate logistical solution. We offer economical surface cargo and expedited air parcel courier services that pick up your suitcases, trolley bags, duffels, and cartons directly from your doorstep in Ranchi and deliver them safely to any residential address, hostel room, or corporate office across India. For less than 20% of what airlines charge, your heavy baggage travels securely in sealed weather-tight linehaul containers with complete end-to-end tracking.

Airport Baggage Fee Comparison: While domestic airlines at Birsa Munda Airport charge ₹550+ per kg for baggage above 15 kg, Shree Ashirwad’s nationwide express surface cargo delivers your luggage for as low as ₹25 to ₹65 per kg (subject to destination distance and consignment volume). Save thousands of rupees while avoiding the physical hassle of dragging heavy luggage carts through crowded airport terminals.

Engineered Packaging to Protect Your Luggage in Transit

Standard airline baggage handlers often subject suitcases to rough drops, conveyor belt scuffs, and broken zip pulls. At Shree Ashirwad, every luggage parcel receives multi-tier defensive packaging before being dispatched onto interstate highway trucks:

23-Micron Heavy-Duty Stretch Film

Suitcases and trolley bags are wrapped in multiple layers of industrial stretch film, shielding expensive luggage fabric and leather finishes from road dust, grime, and rain moisture.

Tamper-Evident Security Seals

Suitcase zipper pulls are secured with serially numbered tamper-evident security pull-ties to ensure that your bag cannot be opened during transit without leaving obvious physical evidence.

High-Tensile Polypropylene Strapping

High-stress seams and heavy zip tracks are reinforced with machine-tensioned polypropylene strapping bands, preventing burst zippers when bags contain dense books or clothes.

Heavy 7-Ply Cartons for Books & Fragiles

For loose clothes, bedding, study materials, and kitchen sets, we supply brand-new, export-grade 7-ply double-wall corrugated cartons that withstand heavy stacking pressure.

Frequently Asked Questions: Luggage Courier in Ranchi

Q1: Can I pack fragile items like glassware or electronic gadgets inside luggage bags?

While clothing, books, footwear, and non-breakable personal effects travel perfectly in suitcases, highly fragile items such as glass crockery, laptop screens, or delicate electronics should be packed separately in bubble-wrapped corrugated boxes rather than soft bags. We can supply protective packing for these items upon request.

Q2: How is luggage weight calculated? Is it actual weight or volumetric weight?

For standard suitcases and dense book boxes, charges are almost always based on actual gross dead weight (measured in kilograms). For very light but bulky items (like giant plush toys or lightweight plastic organizers), standard IATA volumetric weight calculation (Length x Breadth x Height in cm divided by 5000) applies.

Q3: Do you provide carton boxes if I don't have enough suitcases?

Yes! When scheduling your pickup, simply let us know how many boxes you need. Our team brings brand-new heavy-duty 7-ply corrugated cartons, packing tape, and bubble wrap directly to your doorstep.

Q4: Are there items prohibited from being shipped via luggage courier?

Yes. In compliance with Indian transport safety regulations, you cannot ship liquid perfumes, pressurised aerosol sprays, battery power banks, flammable materials, liquid chemicals, perishable foods, firearms, contraband, jewellery, or cash currency.

Q5: Can I insure my luggage parcels against transit loss or damage?

Yes. We offer optional transit insurance coverage at a nominal premium of 1.5% of your declared consignment valuation, providing complete financial peace of mind.

Q6: What happens if I am not available at the destination address when the luggage arrives?

Our delivery driver always calls the recipient phone number prior to attempting delivery. If you are temporarily unavailable, we can hold the luggage safely at our destination hub for up to 48 hours free of charge and reschedule delivery for your convenient day.
